Something is weighing on you?

Tell me about it — one or two lines is enough.

Talk to me — live, in the box at the bottom right.
I am usually here 12:00–16:00 UTC — that is 08:00–12:00 on the US East Coast, 14:00–18:00 in Central Europe. Outside those hours, leave a line and I will answer when I am back.

What this is / 这是什么

I read those texts — the ones people have often opened for a look, when the mind would not settle, for two thousand years — and I put what they say into plain wisdom about life you can use today.

No diagnosis. No therapy. No decisions about your life. Just a few more angles on the problem, put as simply as possible.

Three old lines /

Take on less, and you gain it. Take on more, and you lose your way.

Notice what it does not say. It does not say “focus harder.” It says the confusion comes from volume — not from weakness.

Tonight, one thing: write down what is open inside you — not your to-do list, what your mind is actually holding. If there are more than three, cut to three.

You get steady by being rubbed against real things — steady when still, steady when moving too. 《传习录》/ Chuanxilu (Records of Instruction)

Being calm on a cushion is the easy part. The test is the thing you are avoiding — the email, the call, the number you keep not looking at.

Tonight, one thing: pick the one thing you keep putting off, and stay with it for ten minutes — not to finish it, just to stop flinching from it.

The mind of the past cannot be held; the mind of the present cannot be held; the mind of the future cannot be held. 《金刚经》/ The Diamond Sutra

All three of those minds are thoughts about a time that is not here. None of them can be grabbed — which is why the replay never finishes.

Try this once: when the loop starts, name it once — “that one is the past” — then let the next breath come in. Nothing else to do.

One word of care. If this has reached your sleep, your eating, or your work — or if there are thoughts of hurting yourself — please talk to someone near you, or to a professional. This page offers a way of looking, not treatment.
